A partner in industrialization and manufacturing, aside from capacity, needs to offer clarity, confidence and a smoother path forward. Companies looking to collaborate want to know what needs to be solved before production and that the partner understands how design choices, sourcing, quality requirements and manufacturing readiness are connected. Most of all, they want to feel that the project is in capable hands.

Creating this kind of feeling inspires Petri Haanpää, who has joined Innokas as Sales Manager for manufacturing operations. Petri brings experience from sales, product development, NPI project management, sourcing and manufacturing. Over the years, he has seen product journeys from several angles and formed a practical understanding of the questions customers face when moving from idea, prototype or pilot phase towards production.

A broad background in project management, technology and customer work

Petri’s vast range of roles and responsibilities in his career position him as a strong solution seeker for manufacturing related needs. He has worked in sales for more than 10 years, in addition to NPI project management and design engineering, so he’s got a strong firsthand manufacturing background to support his sales work.

This variety is apparent in the way he talks about his work. In his previous role he worked with tailored product solutions in collaboration product development, which meant the sales work often involved building the right solution rather than offering a fixed product.

“I have worked with different parts of the product lifecycle over the years. That helps when discussing with customers and understanding what would make the next step easier and less risky for them,” Petri says.

Quality and Medtech as a natural direction

Quality-related topics have been close to Petri throughout his career, especially through testing and customer projects, which has made Medtech feel like a natural environment for him. That level of care is one of the reasons he wanted to move more firmly towards Medtech at this point in his career. The combination of demanding projects, meaningful products and a strong quality mindset was exactly what Petri was looking for.

“Medical is a field where things really must be done properly, and I find that inspiring,” he says. At Innokas, he sees a strong foundation for that work in the team around him.

“The team here is very versatile and highly skilled,” Petri says. “With such a broad mix of expertise in house, we have the capacity to tailor the exact right service for the customer.”

Results come from working with people

Petri describes that one of the things he enjoys most is working with people and getting results, and he has been able to do both throughout his first month. Customer discussions, new opportunities and practical progress are all important parts of what motivates him, so he has got right to work with existing customer accounts and new customer acquisitions. Learning through action suits him well. “New customer cases have almost worked as pilots, and through them I’ve learned the processes much more efficiently."

Although there have naturally been new tools and systems to get used to, Petri says that the start has been ideal.

A structured start and a strong first impression

What has stood out especially during Petri’s first month is the Innokas team and the onboarding experience that positively surprised him.

“One detail that stood out to me was that my first three days were planned out with clear agendas, and that schedule was shared with me before I arrived,” Petri remembers. “I already knew what was going to happen when I stepped inside, and that felt very positive.”

For him, that kind of systematic and well-functioning onboarding reflects something broader about the company; a way of working where things are thought through properly and people are given the support they need to get started.

With his background, practical mindset and interest in Medtech, Petri seems to have found a strong fit at Innokas. “I’m looking forward to working with customers and helping them create results together with a capable team behind me. When we can make the customer’s work easier and reduce uncertainty along the way, we are doing something valuable,” he concludes.

Petri will continue finding solutions for manufacturing related needs. If you are preparing your product for production, leave us a detailed contact form through the link below, and we'll see if we are the right fit for each other.
